Author Interview with Casey Bond

What is your writing process?

I’m a pantser. I get a general idea and sit down and see where the characters take me. If I think of something to include in my work in progress, I write it down or type a note on my iPhone so I don’t forget it! LOL!

Who or what influences your writing? Music is a huge influence. I’m also a very visual person, which is why I LOVE Pinterest. I have boards for writing inspiration and for each book and work in progress.

What do you consider your best accomplishment? My daughters. Seeing them grow each day and hoping I’m helping mold them into successful and productive citizens, and loving, compassionate adults is my best accomplishment by far.

How have personal experiences influenced your writing? Absolutely. I’ve heard people say time and time again to write what you know. Most of my books are set in my home state or in other places that I’ve visited and feel comfortable writing about. Although, I love to create worlds, too!

What’s the best thing about being an author? The fans and readers. There would be no point in writing if no one wanted to read what I wrote. I get encouragement from different people in different ways every single day. Some share my books online, some cheer me on in person. I feel blessed that people have enjoyed my writing as much as I loved writing it!

Which authors inspire you? Rachael Brownell, Amy Bartol, Jo Michaels, Lila Felix, Mary Ting, N.L. Greene and so many others. I could sit here all day, but I love the raw beauty of the words these amazing women have written and cannot wait to read their future works.

What is your favorite genre to read? Write? I’m a young adult girl. I enjoy new adult, but YA is my heart. I LOVE dystopian and fantasy in the YA genre. I tend to write in those genres and feel that my best works so far are within them.

What is the hardest thing about writing? Finding time to do it. I have two little ones, so I’m very busy! LOL!

What is your favorite quote? “Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.” ~Anne Frank

What advice would you give to your younger self? You do not know it all. Accept advice. Listen closely and learn from others.

What would you like to say to your readers? Thank you and I love you from the bottom of my heart. You give my words wings. <3

I was born in the beautiful state of West by God Virginia where I still reside with my husband and our two beautiful daughters.

I graduated from Hurricane High School in 1999 before attending Marshall University. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice, Legal Studies in 2003, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Currently, I am an author and domestic goddess/ Stay-at-home Mama!

I love to talk to imaginary people, better known as my characters, and visit the worlds I create as often as possible!  I hope you fall in love with them as well.  <3
