Author Interview with N.L. Greene

What is your writing process? I don’t know if I actually have one. I usually get an idea then just sit down and start writing. I usually

Who or what influences your writing? Everything around me influences my writing. Movies I watch, other books I read, and things I see day to day. Then I fill in the blanks with my imagination.let the story sort of write itself.

What do you consider your best accomplishment? My girls!! They are sweet, smart, and the most loving children I know. I know I’m bias but everywhere we go, we get compliments on how well behaved they are. That makes me one proud parent!

How have personal experiences influenced your writing? My debut novel as Author N.L. Greene, Twisted, was very much influenced by my own personal experiences. I didn’t realize until I was older, that some of the stuff I went through and the way I was treated during my middle school and high school days, wasn’t normal. I wrote the book hoping to help other people recognize the signs of bullying and manipulation when it’s from the people they least expect it from, their best friends.

What’s the best thing about being an author? Getting to write down all the things that are always stirring around in my head.

Which authors inspire you? It used to be my favorite author, Kim Harrison. But now there are so many in the Indie community that inspire me on a much more personal level. Carol Kunz, Amy Bartol, Jo Michaels, and Casey Bond are probably my top four. But like, I said there are so many more. Almost every single one of them that I have contact with inspires me in some way.

What is your favorite genre to read? Write? NA contemporary to read and NA PNR to write.

What is the hardest thing about writing? Staying on task. I am way to easily distracted!

What is your favorite quote? “I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.” ~Michael Jordan

What advice would you give to your younger self? Have fun and be me. Don’t worry about what other people think or say, ever!!

What would you like to say to your readers? THANK YOU!!! I absolutely love to write and the fact there is even one person out there that likes to read what I wrote, is amazing!!
